Question for both sides, Left and Right

I have normally been able to separate politics from friendship, and have been able to maintain friendships with even the fringe elements of the right and the left.

lately, in this very volatile political time, have you experienced/observed, for felt that more and more...this is difficult?

have many of your friends drawn a line in the sand and avowed, "if you believe x, Y and Z, we can't be friends..."?

I don't believe anyone has ever lost a real friend over politics.

I don't shy away and because of it, several younger members of the family dropped me from their FB friends, LOL.

The only time it bothered me was when we hosted a family reunion and they chose not to attend because they were "afraid" the "politics" would get in the way...I cordially responded that we would miss them.

I have never felt that any subject was off the table.  I always preface my conversations with friends and family that "sometimes we'll just have to agree to disagree"...I love to argue politics, weather, favorite foods, parenting styles...etc, but for someone to choose to distance themselves from the family, because they don't want to talk politics?  Well, then obviously they aren't adult enough to say, hey, let's not talk about that right now.

There wasn't a single political argument at our party and I have both liberal and conservative members of all ages...so they really did miss out on some great fun.

Unlike you, I don't make shit up. The MSM loves to however. News is now pundits making comments and adding their political bent no matter which side does it.

Democrat leaders love to blame Trump for their blatant failures as they are never wrong or guilty.
