A 79-year-old woman was assaulted in the lobby of her Manhattan apartment building by a young girl who followed her inside Monday and unleashed a flurry of punches.

The victim, a retired mental health professional, recounted the cruel attack in her West 17th Street apartment building to The Post — saying she’s “never seen a child do that.”

The elderly woman was heading back home around 11:50 a.m. after walking her dog when she encountered a group of youngsters “play fighting” in front of her Chelsea building.

“There were about four of them and a number of kids on the steps already,” she said. “I told them to leave.”

The septuagenarian and her small dog made their way inside the building and initially prevented the troublemakers from pursuing the confrontation any further.

A vicious mugger who allegedly bashed an NYC food vendor with a metal pipe was nabbed after images spread of the attacker!

The ruthless mugger who allegedly beat a food vendor with a metal pipe and stole $3,500 from his Hell’s Kitchen cart was busted Thursday and charged with two felonies, cops said.

Jeffrey Vargas, 45, was nabbed around noon and charged with robbery and assault, both in the second degree, in connection to the 10:30 p.m. Tuesday attack on a 36-year-old cart operator at West 49th Street and Eighth Avenue, police said.

The vicious beating left the worker with some broken teeth, cops said.

An outspoken proponent of New York City’s unpopular congestion pricing was attacked at a Manhattan subway station on the program’s launch day. The Central Business District Tolling Program, which started on January 5, 2025, forces commuters to use the subway to ease congestion.

The victim of the unprovoked attack was Layla Law-Gisiko, the president of the City Club of New York, which sued New York Governor Kathy Hochul to implement the program. Law-Gisiko, 53, said she sustained bruises after an attacker struck her on the subway on 23rd Street and 5th Avenue, resulting in a painful experience.

Bronx man arrested, charged with murder in fatal stabbing of 14-year-old!

A Bronx man with a history of arrests and mental illness has been charged with murder for fatally stabbing a 14-year-old in an unprovoked attack — prompting NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch to decry “the systems that … continue to fail us.”

Waldo Mejia is also facing manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon charges in the Friday morning slaying of Caleb Rijos, who was walking to school on East 138th Street, when Mejia, 29, allegedly stabbed him twice in the chest, cops said.

As he lay dying, Caleb called his father.

“You know, he called his father and told his father that he couldn’t breathe and that he was scared, and his father heard him dying,” Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark told reporters at a Saturday news conference. “It’s unfathomable to think about the level of this tragedy.”
