A man has been slapped with a £100 fine after calling his neighbour "fat".

The comment made by Aaron Quinn, 33, is said to have caused "distress" to neighbour Sarah Allen.

The bust-up came after Quinn became embroiled in a row with another neighbour.

The 33-year-old said he had been grieving the death of his mother and suffering from insomnia when he made the fat-shaming remark.

In another brutal display of political violence, the Corsican separatist leader Alain Orsoni was shot dead with a suspected sniper shot during his mother’s funeral.

The incident took place yesterday (12) in Vero, near Ajaccio, the capital of the Mediterranean French island.

Authorities linked the Corsican National Liberation Front-Traditional Wing to a series of attacks on the island in the 1990s, some of which the group claimed.”

The US State Department Human Rights Report stated that German police “routinely raided homes, confiscated electronic devices, interrogated suspects and prosecuted individuals for the exercise of freedom of speech, including online.” German Chancellor Friedrich Merz personally filed almost 5,000 complaints against his online critics, sometimes resulting in police raids against people he accused.

The German media are gung-ho for government censorship of average Germans. TheNew York Times noted, “Authorities in Lower Saxony raid homes up to multiple times per month, sometimes with a local television crew in tow.”  The Timesreported that in 2022, “Christian Endt, a journalist in Berlin whose coverage of Covid drew a steady stream of insults online, reached a breaking point. After an anonymous Twitter user had called him ‘stupid’ and mentally ill, he embarked on a mission to see if he could get the person prosecuted.”
