Further north of us the roads were a nightmare and still were as of last night.  People just abandoned their vehicles and left on foot and a school bus with kids on board was stuck for hours on the first day this all happened.  PDX was a nightmare with cancelled flights and people stuck in traffic trying to get there.  So glad I wasn't persuaded to stay in California another couple of weeks and tried to fly home at this time.  My friend up in Portland area has been stuck in her house since Wednesday and can't get out - they are on a hill which makes things worse.

We heard about the mess near Portland.  We're expecting up to 6" here by Tuesday...not looking forward to it, but got out this morning and got some groceries to keep us until the next break in the weather.  We just finished with a round of sub freezing temps (we were down to 21* with a windchill around 5*), and it really did me in.

Just want some sun and warmth...seriously.

We got 5 minutes of tiny sleet...did not accumulate at all.

The snow's all gone but we have non stop rain and it's very cold.  Can't say I wish was back in southern California because they have the same thing down there.
