They would never touch our local schools.  Everyone has to be buzzed in, and if they don't have a school ID, they are to sign in and get vetted.  There is a school alarm button available to the vetters they will push and it is heard all over the building and connected to the local police.  Drills train the kids to take evasive measures when that alarm is heard.  There is at least one armed cop present inside the school unless there is no one else in the building.  There is only one entrance and it is always locked, from the inside.  This has been in place since 1995.

People with common sense understand the meaning of security secure and safety AND HOW TO APPLY IT TO ATTAIN THE SECURE AND SAFETY OF SCHOOL CHILDREN.
