yes California has problems with the virus.    but they are a lot more crowded in California so you'd expect to see more virus spread there.   Florida is pretty much rural so you wouldn't expect to see as many problems there as what they are having.

California is 189% larger than Florida in space and has about twice the population

but about 30% of Florida is swamp with nobody living in it.   Florida is almost twice as densely populated as California.

a large part of California is desert with no or little population. Better find another stick to spin on. If Florida is, as you put it, twice as densely populated as California, why are Florida's covid numbers less?
