It's probably because we have more criminals than other countries and judges that see then as victims so therefore they coddle and feel sorry for them and just slap their wrist.
 
Now august if you want to make  a point about what you said you need to show the amount of armed robberies in other countries compared,  armed is with anything that can cause personnel injury or death,

Franklin County Sheriff: 3-year-old eastern Missouri boy shoots himself




A 3-year-old eastern Missouri boy was seriously injured after he apparently shot himself early Thursday, authorities said.

The Franklin County Sheriff's office said deputies were called to a home in Union about 6 a.m. Thursday and found a child suffering from a gunshot wound, KSDK-TV reported.

The boy apparently got ahold of a loaded gun and shot himself, the sheriff's office said. He was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Further information was not immediately released.
