...it only took 9 years, umpteen managers, multiple forays into training courses and repeat training courses every time the company made a technical change...

But I was given a temporary promotion, and if I show initiative (which means I continue to do exactly what I do now), after the 1st of the year, I will be reclassified and make more than my husband, with 20 years with the company. 

Woo hoo! 

Hopefully, my current manager will stick around long enough for that to happen, because he is the one who put me in for it.

As with most everything about this place, one day you're the hero, the next day you're the zero.  LOL

Thank you.  Keeping my fingers crossed.  Logistics is such a difficult line of work and the way the company operates and promotes, unfortunately, doesn't always mean those with the most experience get the promotions.  I think it was another employee who actually told my manager that if something wasn't done soon, with all the logistics people aiming for retirement, that another program would get to grab me and I know for a fact, that I have the most experience and seniority of anyone in my department, in my program, even though I am considered the lowest on the ladder. 

Even if it's temporary, the boost of more than a buck-fifty an hour is a God-send.  I will take what I can get as long as I can get it.  LOL
