The scam phone calls and texts have started again...

For about a week now, claiming to be our bank.  I never open texts that I don't recognize and never press any buttons when someone calls...especially claiming to be the bank or a government agency...

It's pretty frustrating knowing that so little seems to be done to protect consumers from these...accounts are hacked almost daily and yet the US government still does business w/ the known culprits in China, Russia and the Caribbean...

I saw a post on Facebook that it's time to call the national don't call registry again on our mobiles and now I can't find the number.

We have an unlisted number on our landline and we keep getting calls every afternoon from a fax machine.  It's just a long beep and our telephone company monitored it for us and said it was a fax machine from Salem Hospital.  They were supposed to sort it out but it started up again this week.  So annoying.

On the Clark Howard radio show a few months ago when I was listening while driving he was talking about this,

and apparently co.'s that are located off-shore don't have to follow U.S. laws regarding the no call list. There are other loophole details with on-shore....can't think of exactly who is exempt here from not calling but there are protocols where some can still get away with it.
