Too cute, sleeping under the bed.  When we finally brought Thing 1 home from the hospital, we were uncertain how our dog (a tibetan terrier) would react.  After Thing1 was born, we brought a blanket back from the hospital and put it near the dog's bed for him to begin associating his scent.  I also toted home (a 140 mile RT drive daily) burp cloths and hospital gowns from when I would try to nurse and from our kangarooing sessions...by the time we brought Thing 1 home, we hoped the dog would recognize the new addition.  Just as in this sweet video, at night, when I went in to check on him (something we did w/ great frequency given the monitors and scares w/ bradycardia and apnea we had), there was Hobo, sleeping under the crib, nestled among the totes of baby clothes and diapers.  They were best buds from the start and I have a great many pictures of Thing1 grabbing handfuls of fur and pulling the dog in to him for a kiss or to help him stand up...and that pooch was ever patient, ever loving...
