Better than finding a snake in the dryer. I always open the door very cautiously. (http://www.aesopsretreat.com/forum/Smileys/classic/laugh.gif)

One day my house phone was dead. No phone outlet worked. I called phone company, serviceman opened phone box located 4 feet off the ground, trouble instantly spotted with snake all coiled up inside the box.

Be sure there is no lint caught in the outside flap of a dryer vent in order for it to totally close down flat when the dryer is off.

I had cages installed over my lint and other vent flaps. Did it so birds would not nest, never thought about a snake getting in it.

This is what the cage looks like, it opens to clean it out when needed.

That is a good idea!  I can't imagine a snake in the dryer.  There was one day I was unloading the dryer and the phone rang and I left to answer. Remembering that some of the stuff was still a little damp I shot back, closed the door and pressed the continue button.  Luckily there was only a little time left to go, as when the buzzer sounded that the cycle was done I went back, opened the dryer and my cat leapt out with his hair standing on end.  He staggered about a bit but he was ok and he gave me such a scare.

Poor Kitty!!! If it is able to remember anything after that dizzying trip,  it will likely be to not explore there again.
