People are betting on the market and the solidity of the stocks.

anchoragedan was correct last week...it was a buying opportunity, IF you had the cash to take advantage of that.   

I started with nothing, worked hard to earn my money, avoided bankruptcy and made sound financial investment contributions and decisions over the years.

no one knows Trumps legacy will be......but it is starting to look very dicey.

On what do you base that belief?

The market reflects the faith and feelings of the American public and the investors.

Also real economic conditions.

Dare I say faith and feelings are pretty low right now?

For some perhaps.  But you should be aware that investor sentiment is a contrary indicator.  In other words, the more pessimistic people are about the market, the more likely the market will rally.  The reason being pessimists have removed money from the market, thus establishing a large reserve of cash that can be invested.

I get the print versions of WSJ and Barron's.  Certainly not radical lefties.

No one is betting "on" Trump. 

They were 1000% in favor of the Republican tax cut for corporations and the wealthy. 

I just have my small piece of the equity world pie.  Mostly buy and hold mutual funds - particularly index funds and ETF's.

I knew with 100% certainty the tax cut for corporations and the wealthy would improve equity positions, but I didn't expect that bubble to deflate so quickly.  Been taking equity winnings off the table and banking on fixed income products to meet my ultimate goal - to live to 100 and still be able to wipe my own azz.



dan, I learned from my father - a CPA, Auditor and CFO. 

I learned his distrust of corporate executives (always trying to game the balance sheets and stock prices to their personal advantage).

Over the years, corporations have abandoned their financial support of their workers...and placed that burden on the worker and leaving society with the tab to pick up when the worker struggles through no fault of their own.

You want to place blame on that worker for not succeeding where you have.  Then again, you have a dual income family and no children. 

That's a significant financial advantage over the dual income family with child care and health care issues among other things.

It's another good buying opportunity.  Just like the one I posted two weeks ago.  I put another $105,000 in the market today.

Nope.  I am a buy and hold guy, who takes advantage of market weakness to add to my position.  I am a long term investor.  I have been fully invested since 2003.

It's gambling to NOT be in the market.  I don't gamble.  I take the house advantage.
