Too close for comfort last night. I had to camp out downstairs. There were three right near my neighborhood that tried to touch down. Still dont know if they did or not.

I am shocked at the destruction in Tuscaloosa, AL. Solid brick and concrete houses destroyed one after another. How horrible.

I was in North Carolina last night when the storms came rumbling through, what a light show! The phone rang at 12:30, it was the local emergency preparedness call warning of high winds and large hail. This morning trees and power lines in the area were down, some roofs torn off, but everyone made it through OK.

Glad you are safe.  My hubby had left Tuscaloosa yesterday morning and had gotten to Brewton, so he was safe, but he still can't get in touch with his customer there.  he was suppose to go back to Tuscaloosa this morn, but don't think that will happen now.  so glad the campus wasn't hit.

With the death toll climbing into the hundreds, it really hits us all, that disasters aren't just relegated to foreign nations, we are not immune.  One of the guys at work was getting texts from his family in Alabama all night...much of their lives destroyed...

So glad to hear that everyone is safe this morning - but what a devastation some of those Southern States are facing.  With one earthquake after another around the world, tsunamis, fires and now all these tornadoes, I think Mother Nature is truly pi...d off about something!  I don't think I would ever want to live in those southern States without having a basement in my house to hide in.  People in the mobile home parks don't stand a chance when something like this hits.
