and Reagan was no Bonzo, acting wise.  I wonder how he felt playing second fiddle to a chimp?  even the name of the movie and all the ads put the chimp before the aging, goofy, black hair dyed B actor.  i guess the only thing he had left was to convince the big money boys of the GOP he could pretend to have a clue about the economy and foreign affairs good enough to get elected and then they could pull his strings once he got in office.  one of the worst presidents in history, the most corrupt administration in our history by far, who almost singlehandedly destroyed the middle class of this country with his bullshit supply side voodoo economics.

Of course Obama is no Reagan.

It will be impossible for Obama to be re-elected with the huge margin that Reagan won. Obama will be lucky to get his own party's nomination in 2012.

No dobt about it.  Regan was an actor, and knew how to play the crowd.  Having been President of the Screen Actors Guild and having had gone up against the likes of Senator Joe MacCarthy the great patriot in defense of Nancy - acused of being a commie - he had experience dealing with Congress.  Unfortunately he had no recollection of key events during his tenure - like how the Drug Czar was supposed to end import of illegal drugs to the US - not increase it and use the proceeds to allow the CIA to purchase weapons to sell to the Iranians to prolong the war (they were supporting) with Iraq.

Reagan was like the Clintons, wasn't he, in not knowing things or remembering facts.

Like how the Clintons couldn't remember where the Rose law firm records were, or how the FBI files got into the WH.  Little things like that which mean nothing to liberal supporters.

You don't even know the real Reagan. Reagan was a member of a union. He was the first president to allow a black couple to spend an evening at the White House. And he even imposed huge taxes when he was the governor of California and as President He created the welfare program in California,
As governor, he signed a bill legalizing abortion. As president, he signed a bill that offered amnesty to illegal immigrants. He even negotiated with the enemy - Mikhail Gorbachev. His worshippers of today choose to ignore those things.

I remember him taking away the alternative energy tax credit, tax credit for businesses that purchased new equipment so they could grow and hire more employees,  His cut to deductions, like  the interest on car loans and credit cards and selling weapons to the Iran Contra and then claiming " I don't remember, its like I wasn't even President"

I do remember Reagan quite well.

He brought pride back to being an American.
