Here are the announced price increasers so far:

Shein and Temu announced on April 16, 2025, that they will increase their prices effective April 25 due to higher operating costs resulting from recent changes in trade rules and tariffs. Both companies, which had benefited from the “de minimis” threshold (which exempted packages under $800 from tax), now face higher tax burdens under Trump's new trade policy.

Ford, according to an internal memo leaked to Bloomberg, plans to adjust upward the prices of its gasoline and electric cars beginning with May 2025 production. This move is in direct response to the threat of new tariffs on automotive imports. Although former President Trump suggested on April 14 a possible temporary exemption for the auto industry, there is still no official exemption. The company made it clear that these increases will not affect vehicles already in inventory.

Conagra Brands, under the leadership of CEO Sean Connolly, warned Reuters on April 3 that they may have to raise prices on food products such as Hunt's and Chef Boyardee. Connolly explained that higher tariffs on key inputs such as cocoa, vegetable oils and tin-plated steel (used for cans) will directly impact production costs. In a call with investors earlier in the day, he described the trade situation as “volatile” and constantly changing.

Volkswagen announced through an internal memo that it will impose additional tariffs on imported vehicles manufactured outside the United States, in direct response to Trump's proposed 25% tariff. Kjell Gruner, CEO of the North American division, said prices will remain stable through the end of May, but warned that they could increase in June if there are no policy changes.

Best Buy, according to CEO Corie Barry during the March earnings call, anticipates a price increase due to its suppliers passing on the costs of the new tariffs. Barry underscored the complexity and global dependence of the electronics supply chain, indicating that it will be almost inevitable that these costs will be passed on to the U.S. consumer.

Target, speaking with CEO Brian Cornell in an interview with CNBC in March, anticipated that the 25% tariffs on products from Mexico and Canada will directly impact categories such as fruits and vegetables. Although they will try to absorb some of the impact, Cornell was clear that consumers will begin to see price increases “in the coming days”.

Stanley Black & Decker, through CEO Donald Allan, acknowledged on its February call that price increases will be an almost inevitable response to the new tariffs. Allan indicated that while they will seek to mitigate the impact with logistical and operational measures, there is generally a two- to three-month lag before increases are reflected in the marketplace.

Walmart, during its May 15 call, revealed that price increases will be significant. CEO Doug McMillon explained that despite their efforts to keep prices low, the impact of tariffs is too high to fully absorb. CFO John David Rainey added that consumers were already shopping ahead to avoid the hikes, but that the increase is unavoidable in the long run.

Columbia Sportswear, under CEO Tim Boyle, showed lingering concern over tariff policy. In October 2024, Boyle told The Washington Post that they were already preparing to raise prices, and in February 2025 he told CNBC that they could not make final decisions without greater clarity on the direction of international trade.

AutoZone, with CEO Philip Daniele at the helm, was direct in his September 2024 call in stating that price increases are part of their usual strategy in the face of new tariffs. Daniele explained that, historically, they pass these costs on to the consumer before tariffs take full effect, and that the market eventually stabilizes.

Procter & Gamble (P&G) also joined the list of companies anticipating price increases. CEO Jon Moeller told CNBC that increases are “likely,” while CFO Andre Schulten detailed that they are evaluating strategies by brand and market to progressively and adaptively adjust prices according to the impact of the tariffs.

Ferrari informed in March that it would increase prices of some models imported to the United States by up to 10%, effective April 2, 2025. The decision was made based on preliminary information on the entry into force of U.S. tariffs on cars from the European Union.

Hermès, according to its financial vice-president Eric du Halgouët, announced in April that it would increase prices exclusively in the United States in May. The aim, he said, is to offset the impact of recent tariffs that only affect the U.S. market, without altering prices in other regions.

Nintendo confirmed in April that while the price of the new Switch 2 console will not change, accessories will be adjusted from the prices announced on April 2. In addition, the company delayed presales due to uncertainty in the market caused by tariffs, and does not rule out future increases in other products if regulatory changes continue.

Nikon, in a May statement, said it will apply price adjustments from June 23, 2025 in response to the new tariffs. Canon, meanwhile, announced in its first-quarter call that it will also increase prices, although it is still determining when and how much. Leica has already implemented increases since May 1, arguing that they are directly due to the tariffs imposed on April 5 on imported products, which has raised its costs considerably.
