Spending & Where to Cut?

The 2008/9 bush budget was $3.1 trillion, but we only took in $2.1 trillion.
BTW $515 billion for defense.

We went with $3.55 trillion for 2009/10 Obama budget, but took in only $2.38 trillion.

Interest on National Debt was $167 billion, up 18%.
Health & Human services was down 1.7%.
Veterans Affairs was up 10%.
Education was up 12.8%.
Homeland Security was up 1.2%
 
Take a look as see where we should cut.
 
Remember, keeping the bush tax cuts will keep revenue down, so we will need to cut about $800 billion to make it balance!

Your "Roadmap" is a very poor attempt at humor.
 
It is totally contradictory to your claims against Pres Obama's plan.
 
It requires people to buy insurance, but you have always said that is unconstitutional!
 
State-Based Health Exchanges. Requires States to contract with health insurance plans or third-party administrators to run exchanges. Encourages States to form inter-state compacts, increasing their negotiating abilities and enhances risk-pool sizes. Requires exchanges to offer insurance plans with the same standard health benefits available to Members of Congress. Requires all health plans on an exchange to provide annual open enrollment periods and enroll newly eligible individuals. Prohibits plans offers through an exchange from discriminating based on pre-existing conditions, and allows individuals to opt out of health care.
 
It also offers a $2300 tax creidt for buying your own insurance.  Can anyone find a good policy for $2300 a year?  If people are too poor to afford insurance, where are they going to get the $2300 to buy it in the first place?

Actually, losing the tax cuts will DECREASE revenue, because business won't be able to hire more due to the increased expense. Don't believe me? Show me when increasing taxes ever produced an increase in production and revenue.

As to where to cut? Everywhere, every single department every single program, 20% off the top. Period.

If departments can't operate on the reduced budget, start reducing staff, up to 20%, no exceptions.

Yes, it did seem to require that everyone get in a program.
 
And do you know what kind of policy a person can get for $2300 a year?  Not much.
Also, where are poor people supposed to get the initial $2300 to pay for the policy?
