The cowards stood outside the school, while innocent children got so shot up that parents had to provide DNA samples, so they could identify their dead bodies.

Why?  Because the police were outgunned by an 18 year old could buy two assault-style long guns, extended capacity magazines and hundreds of rounds of ammunition easier than he could buy a 6-pack of beer in Texas. 

The Associated Press reported late Wednesday that police waited outside the school for at least 40 minutes while parents and onlookers urged them to do something.

“Let’s just rush in because the cops aren’t doing anything like they are supposed to,” Javier Cazares, whose daughter Jacklyn was killed in the attack, told the AP. “More could have been done.”

“There were five or six of [us] fathers, hearing the gunshots, and [police officers] were telling us to move back,” Cazares told the Washington Post. “We didn’t care about us. We wanted to storm the building. We were saying, ‘Let’s go,’ because that is how worried we were, and we wanted to get our babies out.”

So the news was reporting there were officers inside and outside.  Those outside were trying to prevent parents from rushing in.  Those inside were trying to find the gunman's location.

There is going to be a lot of conflicting narrative. There always is. 

Bottom line, we need to find out how to stop it from happening again.

The fact that if someone is determined to carry out anything like this, they probably will. All the precautions taken and implemented are simply meant to be a deterrent. An effort used to discourage and hopefully prevent an action like this. Until humans decide that killing anyone is wrong, immoral, illegal, inhumane etc, it will continue. Humans are the critical factor as their decisions, choices and actions dictate the outcomes of everything and those who are irrational or unstable remain unpredictable and a enduring threat to others.
