ended tonight wed 9/22 at 11pm central...2 hour/4 part sessions
i believe it is now all directly available on pbs television web site

from 1942 birth and louisville youth
to 1960 olympic gold metal champion
through boxing legacy
to 1996 atlanta olympic torch lighting
to 2016 death

i found it quite moving and enlightening as a cultural reflection on our recent turbulent times

Ken Burns is one of the best documentarians out there.

I look forward to watching this documentary about a great man.

something that had an established precedence

initially the supreme court denied review of lower court rejection of a C.O. status
BUT THEN...like many obscene/manipulative/cynical/bullshit legal processes
the supreme court threw in a technical interpretation that allowed ali to escape 5 years or more of prison time
except he had already wasted 3+ years (?) of his prime athletic life under government persecution

His Civil War documentary inspired thousands to get involved with National Park Battlefield preservation. The only bad documentary he made was the Vietnam War.
