What is relevant is how fast was a he traveling, was he impaired, was there mechanical failure...?

Given his history and the video from the scene, I think the first two questions may be part of the answer (just had back surgery, hmmmm, oxycodone perhaps), and I think the third question is how his lawyer told him to respond to every question authorities had regarding the crash.

If Tiger was on any heavy duty pain medication as in opiods - hydrocodone or oxycodone - his activities would be impaired.  Sooner or later it will be revealed and it's possibly the end to a brilliant career - a great shame.

Personal troubles from 2009 is long past. His fan base has never wavered and his 2019 Masters win is phenomenal. His media image is whatever brings in the most bucks for their coverage. Falling over oneself to post breaking news doesn't make one a golf fan anymore than a Rush fan as you've noted you never were.
