There are now 45,198 confirmed cases of COVID-19, the illness caused by the virus, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. That is an increase of 1,347 cases from Thursday to Friday.

Cases didn't rise.  They just discovered the cases that already existed.  That's what happens when you test.

Question, How many Egyptians died from pneumonia in the year 1500 B.C.?  According to Egyptian medical records, zero.  But we know that can't be true.  The reason we don't know is because there are no test results.

The more you test, the more you discover.  More cases discovered doesn't necessarily mean there are more cases.  It just means you discovered more.
