Old shed updated

I didn't' think much of this shed when we bought the property.  It was originally next to my husband's shop and the previous owner had been using it to store pottery molds.  We were using it as a garden shed, but I was never happy with it.  The hubby wanted to tear it down and I suggested moving it and making it our wood/firepit supply shed.  Wonder of wonders, our neighbor was able to pick it up and move it with his old steer skid...since then, I stood and stared at it, knowing the door was just an old interior door they found and it was falling apart.  It needed venting, it needed paint...so I happened to inquire in one of my local groups about using barn door hardware and someone came back saying, I've got some rails and wheels I don't need, woo hoo.  $25 bucks later and we were rocking.

So, I primer ed, painted, (with hubby's help of course since I can't climb ladders), and he cut and added vents.  I still have a cool graphic decal coming, but it's done and matches my house now.  I love it!  And the cost was minimal.  We used about $50 in gravel (that we already had on hand for the driveway and firepit project), $25 for the hardware, and the door plank and paint were already here, leftover from the previous owner. 

Since we go back to work tomorrow, it felt good to get this project completed.

We got that years ago at a moving sale. It reminded me of the Texas flag and my husband is from Texas, so I had to have it.  It was still hanging above the garage door and the owner said she hadn't even priced it because she figured no one would want the old thing.  I offered something like $10 and said my husband would even take it down.  She accepted the offer.

Thanks...and seeing what you are doing to yours makes me miss all that property. But my joints remind me why we moved to this tiny lot. You have done such a wonderful job!
