That's another benefit of hydrolic fracturing.  It has made us oil and gas independent.  We are now the number one producer of oil in the world and we are no longer dependent on oil from the volatile mid-east.  We can afford to turn our backs on Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran, Venezuela, Mexico, etc., as long as they leave us alone as well.

All the people that attacked us were Saudis, as was Bin Ladin.  The money they used was Saudi money as well. 
The Taliban probably aren't interested in attacking the US.  They have enough enemies in Afghanistan.  But they did come to power because of our pulling out completely when the USSR pulled out.
Best not to get involved in nations where a both for a tooth and an eye for an eye is a big part of their culture.

True but not completely because Bin Laudin chose only those with Saudi pass ports not necessarily those born in Saudi Arabia!
