Dow Jones Dives Further After Worst Q1 Ever As Trump's Grim Outlook Sinks Market

Stocks fell sharply toward session lows Wednesday afternoon, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled more than 900 points following President Trump's sobering coronavirus outlook.

The S&P 500 plunged 4.7%, the Dow Jones industrials dived 4.5% and the Nasdaq sank 4.7% in Wednesday's trading. Small caps tracked by the Russell 2000 sold off 6.9%. Volume was mixed, higher on the NYSE and lower on the Nasdaq, vs. the same time Tuesday.

Trump's grim outlook?  Or the models' grim outlook?  What makes you say Trump has anything to do with the model casualty projections?  Try to park your partisanship.

We haven't had a successful test of the market lows yet.  When we successfully test the lows, then would be a good time to buy.

so he gets credit for this horrible, awful, predictable crash!

Grim?  Ya mean Trump really IS taking this seriously?  Frankly, it doesn't look to me like investors are taking it seriously, or it would be much lower than it is.  I think they still have that euphoric buy the dip mentality without end.

The underlying market fundamentals are sound.  There's just a lot of uncertainty about when businesses can go back to work.
