no for profit company can compete head to head against the government in providing services.    the government will always outperform a private company both in terms of lower cost and in terms of quality of service.    That simple fact has been proven over and over.

You're joking, right?  Do you know how much it costs a paving company to pave a road?  Do you know how much it costs the federal government to pave the same road?  Only about 50X more.  The government has to go through all sorts of bureaucratic red tape.  There is no incentive to save on costs, so they don't.  They get to stay in business no matter how much money they lose.  A private company must keep costs low and provide good service just to survive.

That simple fact has been proven over and over
