It's not a good day

When the rain is beating down and the new roof has a leak in it................or when you leave a tissue in the wash.

What? It has a leak? Get their butts back out there. :-(

We were breathing a huge sigh of relief when the rains came and we thought we didn't have to worry about the old roof anymore.  Most of our neighbors were getting new roofs as our houses were built at the same time.  We had a huge downpour on Friday night and hubby went up in the attic on Saturday morning just to check and there was a large amount of water up there in the same place where it had started to leak before, which is under one of the dormer windows.  He had previously lined the flooring up there with heavy plastic leak proof liners and luckily he hadn't removed them.  There it was - a big pool of water collected. 

They came right out and will wait until this weekend's rain goes away and be here on the first dry day next week to solve the problem.  We are both p***ed off at the moment.

I hope they get it fixed before  really bad weather sets in.

That stinks!

I am wondering if the drain flashing over the windows was not installed?  We had an issue on our slider door in our other house right after it was built, rain would pour into the dining room.  Turns out, there is a flashing that has to be installed under the siding to keep the framing water tight.

Hope the roofers get it taken care of right away and stand by their work!

They were supposed to have installed the flashing under the dormer windows.  They have been back pretty quick for some minor problems, but this is major and we mopped up a big pool in the attic.

Cooled down some, but I'd like to see some rain.
Nights actually get into the low forties, days are still in the low eighties, but the humidity is so low it not hot unless you are sitting in direct sunlight.
was in Oceanside Saturday and it was beautiful, and the crowds have thinned.
