On Tuesday, Erdogan, who has shrugged moves by European nations to pressure him to abandon the offensive, vowed in a televised speech on Tuesday that it would continue until his objectives were achieved. He plans to drive Kurdish fighters, which he considers indistinguishable from Kurdish separatists in southern Turkey, away from the border region, then repopulate the area with about 2 million Syrian refugees.

How does withdrawing less than 50 soldiers amount to abandonment?

Do you have any idea what those soldiers were doing?

Training the Kurds and other pro-democracy forces and calling in the occasional airstrike!

That is it!

The training has long since finished!

you don't really follow current events much at all do you d2?    The US soldiers were all that was keeping Turkey from attacking.    Turkey didn't want to be the cause of dead Americans soldiers.    So once our soldiers got out of the way Turkey was free to start the shelling of our allies.
