I thought the photo was flipped too, except the shadow still shows a mound. The Sun is now at bottom right. 
I thought maybe the negative is backwards when they processed the photo. But the shadows are still there.
 
This picture was taken on the side of the shadow. If it were a crater we should not be able to see the shadow. Or at least, not this well.

If the photo was flipped or rotated, doesn't mean the Sun followed suit.  The Sun isn't in the photo. So technically, the Sun didn't move.  The fact that there isn't a direction indicated, it is anybody guess where the Sun is, in relation to the field...

OK, New perspective. I think I finally figured this out. It was likely the size of those Tracks that caused the confusion.  Actually they still are a bit confusing if what we are looking at is actually tall corn stalks, and not some other shorter crop. 

Look again. See if it makes sense now. With this new perspective - NOW it looks like a crater.

The sun is coming from the right lower corner

 cause the shadow is opposite that is what I see!

Right, but originally it appeared (and still does for some reason) that the shadows in the Tracks appear to be on the right hand side, making it look like the Sun was shining from the upper Left. And thereby making it look like a mound and not a crater.
 
It was weird, that all I have to say...
