Check out this photo from Germany

This image was taken over a German farm where authorities believe an old WWII Bomb must have exploaded over night. But there seems to be something about this that makes me say "wait a minute - this is weird." I've walked through many bomb craters in Vietnam. I know what they look like, and something about this photo really caught my eye. Do you see what I see?   Or did they mess up when they printed this photo?

There's no crater, it's mounded.  The color is weirder to me though, unless they have a lot of red clay in Germany.

Yep. It looks more like a nipple than a dimple.  Bombs make craters, not mounds.  You can tell from the direction of the shadows in the plant rows which direction the sun is shining from. Top left.

How many times has a tractor run over it?  It must have taken years for an unexploded bomb to have been overgrown with vegetation to the point it was not visible.  Nobody noticed it?  If it was forested when it hit the Earth, the subsequent clear cutting surely would have uncovered it.

If a bomb hits a soft area it buries itself and the soft earth might not be enough to trigger it if it was an impact bomb.

The bomb was buried and plowed over for fifty years or so.  It pushed up and out, can you really tell much about a bomb crater from a shot over head.
The article I read said it was an old rail depot or station.

Well. as was acknowledged above, we can tell from the shadow that its not a crater, its a mound. And bombs create craters, not mounds. So, its definitely unusual.

I suspect the people on the ground have nothing to hide. 
Bombs being found all the time and occasional one blowing up. 
Middle of a field is a good place for one.  Suspect if it had been found it would have been detonated in place.

I'm not sure that is even a farm field.  I've done a lot of flying, and I've never seen a farm field like that. Not in Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, England or Japan.

There was no initial evidence found to link it to a bomb explosion, and a statement from police said there were "no indications of causation by machines or farm tools."

But residents reported hearing a "strong explosion" in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, which was followed by "a quake."
