Michaels wrote that he would place a "bet" that "the 10 years ending on December 31, 2007, will show a statistically significant global cooling trend in temperatures measured by satellite":

I just look at the data and their failed predictions of global temperature.   The data shows we have not had a new record global temp in three years and CO2 has done nothing but rise.   Today's global temp is only a hair higher than the peak global temp way back in 1988.  If CO2 is the main driver, that wouldn't be the case.  The predictions are wrong.  The running average increase in global temp is only 1 degree since 1979, below the margin of measurement accuracy.
