Had Russia wanted Trump to win the election the Russian dossier paid for by Hillary, the DNC, and Obama would have never happened.

According to Politico, which confirmed its findings with digital experts, a “sustained and ongoing” disinformation campaign has begun in earnest, targeting top Democrats including Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Beto O’Rourke. It’s not clear whether Russia is behind this latest round of election meddling, but per Politico, “there are clear signs of a coordinated effort of undetermined size that shares similar characteristics with the computational propaganda attacks launched by online trolls at Russia’s Internet Research Agency.”

“It looks like the 2020 presidential primary is going to be the next battleground to divide and confuse Americans,” said Brett Horvath, co-founder of Guardians.ai, a tech company that aims to protect pro-democracy groups from online meddling. “As it relates to information warfare in the 2020 cycle, we’re not on the verge of it—we’re already in the third inning.”

Republicans in the House and Senate have been blocking any funding for dealing with the interference and trump continues to dismiss it just like you do  local.

In a worldwide threat assessment to the Senate Intelligence Committee, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats wrote that competitors such as Russia, China and Iran “probably already are looking to the 2020 U.S. elections as an opportunity to advance their interests.”

In his statement, he predicted that these countries "will use online influence operations to try to weaken democratic institutions, undermine U.S. alliances and partnerships and shape policy outcomes in the United States and elsewhere."

Furthermore, he said, they'll "refine their capabilities and add new tactics as they learn from each other’s experiences, suggesting the threat landscape could look very different in 2020 and future elections."

The prognosis comes roughly a month after Coats revealed Moscow attempted to interfere in last year's midterm elections, but failed to compromise the country's election systems. Tuesday’s assessment notes that “unidentified actors” attacked election infrastructure in 2018.

Using the internet they used hot point issues on both sides to create hate and discontent. There was no real impact on the elections.

Interference goes far beyond Russia. China was blind copied on Hillary emails. And even our close allies interfere. You need to look no further than Steel interjecting Russian mis-information into our election to see that.
