It's been in the 70's here and my daughter left to go back to sunny and hot California.  We're going to the beach for a week in the RV on Monday and it's only going to drop a little down there - supposed to be in the 60's all week, so it will be a nice change, just so long as there's no earthquake.

I drove my neighbor nuts yesterday. I was in shorts and flip flops and everytime he walked the dog, he was in a coat. 50's and windy....it was cold but I need the 40's for  a coat.  It's 43 right now so we are getting there. I try to hold out turning the heat on until Halloween. Last year I caved the day before and turned it on.

there is a difference in the Southern and Northern cool...same as the Midwest...

in Chicago it maybe 40 degrees but the wind will slap the crap out of you...blowing in the wind effect...

noticed that in the South 40 degrees requires a light jacket....

40 degrees in the North required hat, socks, gloves and a heavy jacket...

I think it has a lot to do with the humidity...or something..

Humidity makes the "feels like" temperature warmer. That's why in SW states they say "But it's a dry heat". In DC that same temp with our oppressive humidity it can feel way hotter and make you sweat.
