Was that the reason he cited, Wvit?  Or was loyalty to his state the reason?

Is that what I said?  That's funny, I thought I said "Lee was neither hero nor TRAITOR."  I never used the word villain.  So much for hoosier's claimed honesty.

Lee had a choice. Lee chose to betray the United States.

Nope.  He chose to defend Virginia.

Lee should have been hung at the close of the war.

Why?  By that reasoning, every single soldier in the Confederate Army should have been hanged (not hung)

talk about an insane type of word parsing!!  the title of this thread has a mississippi senator asking "Was Robert E. Lee a hero or a villain.....goofy ass racist traitor defending clown diaper dan answered but changed the word in the question from "villain" to "traitor" when he posted this:

He was loyal to his home state of Virginia.  He didn't want to fight the Union, but when duty called to defend his state, he felt a loyal obligation.  He is neither a hero nor a traitor.



I replied, as part of the question about the senator asking Was Lee a Traitor or a Villain, and after Diaper Dan had changed the wording from villain to traitor, as if traitor is better than villain!!, this, where I said very truthfully, going by your previous stupid reply, that you believed being a traitor is neither a hero or a villain!!!  now you are lying about what I said, and that is not allowed, Diaper Dan....

dan thinks traitors to this country are neither heroes or villains.  especially, those who fight for slavery, i guess.  robert e lee did have a change of heart, and i am not sure his heart was ever in it..he specifically banned any confederate flags or uniforms or references of any sort at this funeral. 

his military expertise helped kill many American soldiers, and prolonged the war for who knows how long....how he must have regretted his decision till the day he died.
