small SUV type of automobile good enough because everything that I was going to take to Memphis is there and all I'm going to be taking back and forth is tools so...

That's a shame. You need to buy a car from someone like my husband whose passion is cars and fixing them up.  Our neighbors were always eager to buy a car from him.

 oh hell I'm just going to wait on purchasing the car until it's almost time to go back to Memphis the scams I ran into would make anybody scream just be careful online while you're purchasing cars.

Get a Carfax, seek a reputable dealer, at least that way, if something happens you can try to get some help.  Private party sales can go south real fast.
