Cleaning blinds is the worst!

I made a vow that I would get the worst of them done this weekend.  So far, I've managed 3 of the 10 I need to get done.  The worst was the kitchen window because it's so long and high, and I had to stand on the counter to get to the top.  The dust build up is unimaginable, it drives me crazy. 

But it was productive for a rainy Saturday.  I did some yardwork in between rain showers, got the whole house vacuumed and dusted and the blinds started.  Just waiting for hubby to get home from work and we'll enjoy a cup of coffee and some strawberry shortcake while we watch the news.

I cleaned everywhere before we went away and I have one of those long Swiffer  dusters and I spray it with Endust and it reaches up to the highest blind and goes in between the slats easily.  You should see the dust I get off.  I go through quite a lot of those dusters.

I tried my swiffer, but it was just leaving the dust in trails.  So, I got out the bucket and rags and hot, soapy water.
That reminds me though, to use the long handled swiffer to clean the ceiling fans...yikes...

Got a lot of blinds.. .Fill the tub with hot dawn soap. . Let soak and take the shower handle to rinse... Hang and let dry on its own...
Be careful cause some will tear and replacing-repair is a chore...

Can't do that with these ones.  They are wood blinds.
