Yes some of it I knew but who would have thought putting a celery stick in with the bread would keep it fresh, also salt in the milk, I'm not sure about that one if you're on a low sodium diet.  I'm going to have to try putting a slice of bread in with the cookies but I can imagine the face I'll get when the cookie jar is opened.  Thanks for the tips - she has the exact same fridge as mine.

Great tips.  I also didn't know about the celery trick, but then again, we usually buy a loaf of bread, use a couple slices and put it in the freezer.  I do like the quick vacuum sealing trick.  If I have just a small portion, it's easier than dragging out my big vacuum sealer.

I usually just close the baggy most of the way then suck the rest of the air out. Its a lot faster and more efficient.
Kinda hard on the lungs doing the onions though.
