Ron Paul said next year he was going to introduce legislation to force the audit of the federal reserve, I bet that would be interesting because he believes they are lying and there isn't much gold in FT Knox anymore to back up our money if needed....

The FED has never been independent of Congress.  It will happily buy up all the debt the Congress creates without ever saying NO and create the money to pay for it out of thin air.  Independent my arse.  The FED was created by the Congress for the big banksters to make the people its indentured servant.
