It could give him more credibility in the world community who at this point in time dislikes Trump more than they dislike Putin to support the war criminal Assad in Syria even more than they are now.  A one and done missile strike is better than nothing, I guess, and it does give a huge taxpayer boost to the Raytheon military-industrial giant, but it does nothing to change the situation on the ground.  Basically, a very very expensive tax-payer funded photo op.

Any diplomatic peace would have ended with Assad's execution or exile and Putin would never tolerate that!

Turkey wants the Northern part of Syria as do the Kurds!

The Syrian civil war is a war of annihilation nothing less!
