I won't be happy with the 80's coming later in the week,  but I am tired of worrying about my plants freezing their little buds off. I am sooooo over winter.

We survived the big wind and rainstorm yesterday and didn't lose power although it was forecast that we might.  We have a milder version today but still miserable out there.  Sad thing is that all the beautiful blossoms have been thrashed.

We are rain weary.  It's been steady for days and we had nasty downpours yesterday. 

I did put on my big girl panties and go out to the nursery though.  They were having their annual two-fer outdoor planter sale, so I got two delicously red/gold/black squared 3 foot planters for some small trees out in the forest garden.  Going to move my little smoke tree (I started it from a seed), and I just received some free rose of sharon from the Arbor Day Foundation, so I will plant a couple of those as well.

It looks a bit like this, only more subtle on the color.  Once I get them set and planted, I'll take more pics...it's just pouring rain too much today...

My plants all survived the snow and wind...low wind chill temp last night was 24!!! My liles act as if the cold never happened.

I cleaned up the front porch yesterday as it provided a little protection but the windstorm came right down our street and I was feeling it, so gave up in the end.  Since the flu bug I have been struggling each night with asthma and in the morning feel like my head is full of cotton and I get dizzy.  Finally found some eucalyptus oil in the medicine cabinet and put a few drops in a basin of boiling water, threw a towel over my head and inhaled it.  I think I put too much in at first as my eyes burned and it made me choke/cough, but it cleared up my nostrils and I felt so much better.  I have had two sessions since and it is like a miracle and no asthma last night.

I'm so sorry that you continue to suffer that way em!  This flu is nastier every year and it's not so much the flu itself as all the other manifestations that come afterward.  My older son suffers from chronic bronchitis and he is still hacking up a lung a month after his flu...

It seems as if it is all over the place and every time I'm out I can hear people coughing in the markets and stores.  Hope your son kicks it soon, takn.
