The beekeepers came out and set up two hives in the west 40, in the pouring rain...!

We were given a jar of last year's crop and O M G, it's heavenly. 

As soon as it stops pouring, I'll go take pictures, and I can't wait to see what the wild roses (rosehips) and my other plants do this year.  I foresee a bumper crop of plums too...yum...

The keepers will be out about once a week to check on them and do any dividing as necessary.  I figure I might as well put some of nature to work for us, while giving the keepers additional area to collect.  The cooperative is great, as we aren't really using the area anyway and my plants will benefit greatly. 
Next week, after the bees have a chance to settle in, they'll be back to take the carrying planks off.

And to make their job easier, hubby just let me order this to cross the wetland stream...the kit should arrive next week.
