Mechanically the AR-15 gas operated magazine fed. No different than semi-auto of the past. It wasn't developed for military use. It was developed for civilian use and became one of our most popular rifles. Especially for the younger and older hunters because of it's light weight and low recoil. So save your breath in trying to convince anyone it is a military killing machine. That's a dumb ass argument. 

I will concede the AR and AK is more dangerous than traditional semi-auto, especially in the hands of nut cases, due to high capacity magazines. And that my friend is what those who want to save lives and gun owners should be discussing because that is the only problem with AR's and AK's.

No problem. You can be stupid if you want to.

There will be no semi-auto gun bans. That goes double during an election year.

However, most gun owners would be open to a ban on high capacity military magazines. And that is a win-win for both sides.

Who are those real experts that can't even stop a deranged killer from gaining access to his intended targets! What is it about safety and security that those that are in charge of providing don't understand how to go about it? Some experts aren't they whore boy!
