Pouring rain here...again...

But I need to get outside anyway, so I'll suit up in my camo raingear and get'er'dun....

This is the best rain we have had in a few months.

Not really cold here, it's up in the 50's but rain and drizzle on and off.  Going to a city council meeting tonight to find out about all the building they are planning on for our small town.  The farmers are selling their lands to developers and new subdivisions are going in so fast.

We ended up with 1.1 inch of rain...much needed.

It's so sad that our farmland is being sucked down for more houses.

Why this nation feels it's advantageous to pave over field and mountain is beyond me.

The property we have now was a huge family farm, more than 100 acres.  Then the family started splitting the land between the kids, and the next generation split it further.  The piece we have was where the original farmstead home was...which I guess is small comfort in knowing we won't see any more houses built on it and if I have my way, when I finish the gardens and trails, I can get it classified as a sanctuary and it can't be split. 

We'll see what happens in our future.

I replied to the FB post about it this morning.  The meeting last night was standing room only but we could see it was all a done deal.
