There is sooooo much wrong with allowing this lawsuit to move forward!  And the teacher should countersue for defamation of character.  I would bet he did give a warning and most people, by their teen years, have enough cognitive thought processes to have already learned there is danger associated with electricity...
 
The kid was brain damaged before his stupid act...he shouldn't be rewarded for it !

I think we all did some pretty dumb things as teens, yet I don't think I would have ever thought of hooking electricity to my nipples
