Last major pipeline hurdle is conquered

The Nebraska Public Service Commission on Monday voted to approve the Keystone XL oil pipeline’s route through the state, eliminating the last major hurdle for the long-awaited project.

The commission voted 3 to 2 to green-light the pipeline, which would transport more 800,000 barrels of oil each day from Alberta, Canada, to refineries on the U.S. Gulf Coast.

The project, which was denied by the Obama administration but revived by President Trump, is now expected to move forward.
