Senate tax reform bill includes repeal of Abominationcare mandate

Senate Republicans want to include a repeal of Obamacare’s individual mandate in their tax-cut bill, leaders said Tuesday, shaking up the debate and clearing more money to offer even deeper tax cuts to the middle class.

President Trump had been pushing for the move, but leaders in both the House and Senate had balked — until now.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell emerged from a GOP senators lunch Tuesday to say they would make the move in order to win over support of more Republicans.

“We’re optimistic that inserting the individual mandate repeal would be helpful,” he said.

the individual mandate hasn't yet been enforced so I don't see how getting rid of it would help or hurt ObamaCare either way.   ObamaCare has been widely successful and enrollment in healthcare continues to climb.

the "Individual Mandate" was a Heritage Foundation idea adopted by Republican presidential candidates Bob Dole and Mitt Romney - and implemented by Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.

To this person, seems like a reasonable requirement of society that everyone participate in the health care insurance pool.
