Finally

The rain is coming.  We got Hannah's walk in this morning under dull skies with black clouds.  This is predicted for the next few days and I pray that it will douse the fires that are still burning all around us.  Just up the canyon from us the residents in a small town got an evacuation 3 notice on Friday which basically means Get Out.  The air is still bad but the rain should fix a lot of that.  The temperature is dropping and I can hardly wait for the worst summer to be finally over.

It's supposed to hit us by mid-afternoon.  I can't wait, because the smoke and haze are just ugly.  The factory is especially oppressive in the heat, but with the smoke wafting in because people open doors to try and get some cooler air moving through.  Last night was awful and I came home with a headache...of course that could also be the lack of sleep and 10 hours days through at least the 29th of this month...looking at another 19 days straight without a day off.  All I can do at this point is hope the powers that be get their shit together and think about the crazy money, which will pay for my plane ticket to Charleston for Thanksgiving.
