Originally it was 18 by 18inch  blocks with grass between them and a pain to edge...so I dug it out and made a gravel path but was a pain when I cut the lawn...so today....I lay blocks with no spaces. :-)  The gravel areas with the plant pots will be filled in with lots of plant pots next spring....if something dies then I don't hve to dig them up, just p[op a new plant in a pot.
