The littlest hummingbird

Visited one of our feeders yesterday and hubby was ready with his camera out on the deck.  It has been back and forth dozens of times since.  It is a Calliope hummingbird and the smallest in the Americas.  It is common in our area in the foothills of the Cascades but this is the first time we have actually spotted it in our back yard and been able to picture it.

He's a little cutie. I thought I saw a little bitty one the other day. We have dragon flies bigger than hummingbirds.

How cute.  We had 3 sharing a morning sip today...I guess they are hungry enough to share, since the lack of rain is limiting their other food sources.
