Just hoping

That the surrounding neighbors in our small city have run out of fireworks.  I really want to go to bed by midnight tonight.  I don't want to drug Hannah again.  Last night she shook and trembled and couldn't decide which closet she felt safer in.

Dogs have a better sense of smell and sound. 

Those firework sound like cannons to them...bigum was never afraid until the Memphis incident when I showed fear...tonight as I post the fireworks continue...it won't stop until it is outlawed and sorry to think a lot of folk have to die before that happens...

She shook and trembled so hard last night that I was frightened she would have a heart attack.

The fear takes such a long time to wear off.  She is frightened to go outside in the morning.  At least the fear of the new patio umbrella has worn off and she doesn't slither by it anymore!

Ozzie usually wasn't too bothered by fireworks, but this year, he insisted on climbing into bed with me...I just kept petting him till we both fell asleep.  I presume the cannon fodder ended close to midnight, but we had to get up at 4 am to get the kids off to the airport, and after 4 days of 6 am wake ups from the young Master Linc, I didn't really pay attention to the noise.
