I just heard that Greg Allman has died.  Damn, that guy could play.

I was going to say you mean Cher's old boyfriend? Then looked him up, wow, Cher's former husband Gregg Allman gone at age 69. RIP, gone too soon. Haven't read yet what he died of. Also read his brother Duanne of 'The Allman Brothers' passed on in 1971 from a motorcycle accident.

Southern Rock Icon Gregg Allman Dies



Gregg Allman, the singer, organist and founding member of The Allman Brothers Band, died Saturday at his home in Savannah, Georgia. He was 69.

Allman idolized his older brother Duane, joining a series of bands with him before forming the nucleus of The Allman Brothers Band.

Duane was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1971.

In 1975 Allman married Cher three days after her divorce from Sono Bono. They formed the group Allman and Woman and had one child, Elijah Blue.

Gregg Allman said in 2012 he never went a day without thinking about his brother. "I can tell when he's there, man," he said. "I'm not going to get all cosmic on you. But listen, he's there."
