Trump’s Climate Destruction Plan: A Deal He Can’t Close

As destructive as trump's new executive order aspires to be it cannot erase Clean Air Act standards and other climate protection rules by itself.  Scott Pruitt and the president’s other minions must follow the rule of law.  They can tear down these regulations only using the same legal process it took to build them. Their final decisions must pass muster in the courts.

trump's orders will be fought every step of the way.   And in the end trump will lose this battle because the law, the science, and public opinion are against him.

This is just another deal that trump won’t be able to close.

The regulations are not created by legislators, but by bureaucrats.  Bureaucrats who are only interested in keep their cushy jobs.  All that matters to them is what the head cheese wants from them.  And the head cheese of today is expecting something different.

just be sure the rich get their carbon taxes which do nothing to effect the climate positively but only negatively

Any lawsuits will have to be aimed by special interest groups against government bureaucracies.   Such lawsuits rarely see the light of day and when they do, they usually lose.  Suing the government is a poor bet.  The government is given great latitude by the courts on matters of regulations.  In the meantime, the revise regulations are in effect.
